John has been an IT Project and Programme Manager for the past 20 years, specialising in Cyber Security and successfully delivering change across different industries, including Financial Services, Broadcasting, Telecoms, Oil and Utilities.
John has global experience and worked for System Integration companies for just under 10 years in emerging markets such as Dimension Data (South Africa) and Comtel Integrators Africa (East Africa). John has delivered a Greenfields building implementation for Orange in Uganda, which included installing the company’s entire ICT infrastructure. This was Oranges’ first presence in East Africa and was a high-profile programme for the company and country.
Some of the software projects John has delivered in the financial sector include NICE Actimize Fraud and Anti-Money Laundry application software using data analytics, Core Banking Replacements from Bankmaster to Finacle, Credit and Debit Cards, Remittances (Western Union and MoneyGram), Insurance (Maven) and Security.
John has utilised various methodologies preferred by his clients and can deliver Waterfall, Agile and PRINCE2 projects successfully.
Most recently John has worked at the BBC, Cardtronics, Lloyds Banking Group, NICE Actimize and his Banking clients include Barclays, ABSA South Africa, Bank of Ireland and Standard Bank of South Africa.
